Vestas has secured a pair of 53MW turbine supply contracts for wind farms in the USA and Germany.
The Danish company will supply V110 2.0MW units to Xcel Energy, as part of an agreement to deliver up to 300 machines for the 600MW Rush Creek project in Colorado.
The turbine nacelles, blades and towers will be produced at Vestas' Colorado factories for delivery in December.
In Germany, a consortium of Holcim (Deutschland) and mdp will receive 16 V112 3.3MW turbines for the Rethwisch wind farm in Schleswig-Holstein.
The order consists of an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract together with a 20-year full-scope service agreement (AOM 5000) and VestasOnline Business Scada solution.
Delivery and commissioning is planned to start in the fourth quarter of this year.
Vestas said the Rethwisch project is its first large-scale EPC project in Germany.
