Fixtureworks, a workholding and fixturing technologies supplier, has augmented its clamp lineup with the addition of three versions of shaft coupling clamps: a standard version, heavy-duty version, and a safety-lock shaft version. Shaft coupling clamps, commonly referred to as shaft mount fasteners, securely join two shafts together, allowing for the transmittal of torque and rotation from one shaft to the other. They are designed to hold the shafts in a precise alignment while accommodating potential misalignment issues and preventing damage from shock or vibration. The Fixtureworks shaft-coupling clamps (shaft-mount fasteners) identified as QCSJ,  are designed to be mounted to a shaft for extended reach and to provide positive locking in quick change applications where there is frequent insertion and removal of a fixture. They allow for consistent fastening force, eliminating the chance for under or over tightening. The clamp comes in body diameter of 12mm with 20 lb. of clamping force, at a weight of only 25g. They are designed to be used with QCSJ-S series cam receptacles. The receptacles are mounted to a fixturing base. As the shaft is inserted into the receptacle, the pins on the clamp align with the grooves in the receptacle. Rotating the fastener one-quarter-turn aligns and locks the clamp into place. The body and shank are made from 1045 steel with an electroless nickel plated finish. The pin is made from 304 stainless steel. The spring is made from 304-CSP stainless steel. The receptacles are made from 4140 steel with an electroless nickel-plated finish. The heavy-duty version of the coupling clamps (QCSJS) also provides a more robust positive locking in quick change applications where there is frequent insertion and removal of a fixture. The body diameter is 22mm and provides 90 lb. of clamping force. They are designed to be used with QCSJS-S and QCTHS-B receptacles. Receptacles for the standard shaft-coupling clamps are made from 4140 steel with an electroless nickel-plated finish.  The heavy-duty version receptacles are made from 1045 steel with a nickel-plated finish. Two locking receptacles are also available. The safety-lock shaft coupling clamp version, (QCSJLK) locks on to the receptacle by turning the shaft 90 degrees. A spring pin is used for locking the clamp onto the cam groove of the receptacle. Push up the collar and turn the shaft in the opposite direction for unclamping. The body is made from 303 stainless steel. They are available in body diameter of 18mm.. Receptacles (QCSJLK-S) for the safety-lock clamps are also made from 303 stainless steel.
